Client Success Stories
Non-profits: The senior outreach and social center
The challenge:
When we were introduced, this non-profit organization was running numerous Microsoft Windows 98 workstations, many in need of upgrading. The organization lacked a solid plan for networking, maintenance and system support. Spread out over three locations and over fifty employees with no central depository for data storage, operable backup solution or internet security, they were headed for potential disaster.
The TOP solution:
-
We first documented the entire
environment, evaluated and prescribed a complete technology refresh.
-
We then implemented new workstations, servers, firewalls and a central backup solution.
The results:
-
Today, they have a reliable secure network with productive computing tools, central backup and a disaster recovery plan.
-
For ongoing support, Technology on Premises provides daily desktop, server and network support with remote managed maintenance.
Legal : Medium size firm with Wall Street area location.
The challenge:
They survived 9/11, but the terrorist attacks shut this legal organization down for ten business days. Once up and running, they realized how close they had come to complete loss of data. The firm made assuring future business recovery a top priority.
The TOP solution:
-
This firm needed to be able to back up to running server within hours of a disaster. To create the best solution we examined consolidation and upgrades to their existing infrastructure.
-
We completed a 2003 server upgrade, replaced many workstations with current technology and implemented a traditional steady tape backup system.
-
We then developed the process to implement data replication to an auxiliary location in Long Island. Through replication software we were able replicate their data to their satellite office as changes occur.
-
This also provided a terminal server configured and ready to provide remote access at the secondary site in the event of a disaster.
The results:
-
The organization is now equipped to run their business with employees spread out in many locations--including individual homes--to ensure business survival.
-
In addition, Technology on Premises provides daily desktop, server and network support with remote managed maintenance.
